Bianca Berning

Bio
Bianca holds a diploma in Communication Design from the University of Applied Sciences in Krefeld, Germany and studied for a year at the KHiB, the Bergen Academy of Art and Design before completing an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, UK. Joining Dalton Maag in 2011, Bianca’s passion for font technology and engineering led to her appointment as Head of Skills and Process, a multidisciplinary team of typeface designers, font engineers and software developers. After five years in the role, Bianca was appointed Creative Director, and is now responsible for ensuring Dalton Maag remains at the forefront of type innovation. Bianca frequently speaks at international design, technology and UX conferences. She is an active member of the Association Typographique Internationale, the Unicode Consortium, and Alphabettes, a network designed to promote the work of women within the type design community.

PixelFix
Bianca will introduce PixelFix, a new and proprietary font technology by Dalton Maag, developed to help improve the clarity of letters and symbols in modern applications on high resolution screens, and without the large file size increases often seen with traditional screen optimization techniques.
